Weight Constraints with Preferences in ASP

چکیده
Weight and cardinality constraints constitute a very useful programming construct widely adopted in Answer Set Programming (ASP). In recent work we have proposed RASP, an extension to plain ASP where complex forms of preferences can be flexibly expressed. In this paper, we illustrate an application of these preferences within weight/cardinality constraints. We emphasize, mainly by simple examples, the usefulness of the proposed extension. We also show how the semantics for ASP with weight constraints can be suitably extended so as to encompass RASP-like preferences, without affecting complexity.

Augmenting Weight Constraints with Complex Preferences
Preference-based reasoning is a form of commonsense reasoning that makes many problems easier to express and sometimes more likely to have a solution. In this paper, we present an approach to introducing preferences in the weight constraint construct, which is a very useful programming construct widely adopted in Answer Set Programming (ASP). We show, mainly by means of examples, the usefulness...
متن کاملPrioritized Component Systems
We introduce a flexible framework to specify problem solutions (outcomes) and preferences among them. The proposal combines ideas from answer-set programming (ASP), answer-set optimization (ASO) and CP-nets. The problem domain is structured into components. ASP techniques are used to specify values of components, as well as global (intercomponent) constraints among these values. ASO methods are...
متن کاملFat requirement of hybrid Asp (Leuciscus aspius ♀) × Caspian Kutum (Rutilus frisii ♂); effect on growth and biochemical indices
This study aimed to determine the fat requirement and effect of dietary fat levels on growth and body composition indices of hybrid Asp (Leuciscus aspius ♀) × Caspian Kutum (Rutilus frisii ♂). For this purpose, 252 fish with an average weight of 29.3 ± 5.8 g were introduced in a completely randomized design with six treatments each with triplicate groups. After two weeks of adaptation, fish wer...
متن کاملDebugging Non-ground ASP Programs with Choice Rules, Cardinality and Weight Constraints
When deploying Answer Set Programming (ASP) in an industrial context, for instance for (re-)configuration [5], knowledge engineers need debugging support on non-ground programs. Current approaches to ASP debugging, however, do not cover extended modeling features of ASP, such as choice rules, conditional literals, cardinality and weight constraints [13]. To this end, we encode non-ground ASP pr...
متن کاملCharacterizing and extending answer set semantics using possibility theory
Answer Set Programming (ASP) is a popular framework for modeling combinatorial problems. However, ASP cannot easily be used for reasoning about uncertain information. Possibilistic ASP (PASP) is an extension of ASP that combines possibilistic logic and ASP. In PASP a weight is associated with each rule, where this weight is interpreted as the certainty with which the conclusion can be establish...
